When designing my five-year-old daughter’s bedroom, I knew I wanted a space that felt girly and sweet but also elevated and timeless. I started with a soft, dusty pink trim, which immediately added warmth and charm. But the biggest transformation came from the wallpaper and window treatments.

We chose a beautiful block-print-style wallpaper from Rifle Paper Co., featuring a delicate feminine pattern with hints of metallic gold. This set the tone for the entire room, creating a dreamy and elegant backdrop. To enhance the custom feel, I added roman shades—an upgrade that made the space feel polished and intentional.

But what truly sealed the deal? The curtains. I opted for these affordable pinch-pleat drapes on these French curtain rods, hanging them with gold rings rather than threading them directly onto the rod. This small detail made a world of difference, instantly elevating the look and giving the room that designer feel. I loved these curtains so much I also purchased them in brown for my living room. By this point, my budget was running thin, but I had my heart set on charming nightstands with scalloped woodwork. Instead of splurging, I got creative! I purchased unfinished nightstands from Lowe’s, painted them myself, and added scalloped trim from Etsy using simple wood glue. After attaching high-quality drawer pulls, they turned out even better than I imagined—proof that a little DIY can go a long way!

And I can’t forget the bed! I searched high and low for an affordable Jenny Lind-style bed that was both beautiful and solid wood (a must for me). I finally found the perfect one, and I couldn’t be happier with how it complements the space.
To keep the room balanced, I kept the bedding simple so it wouldn’t compete with the wallpaper. The result? A cozy, feminine, and thoughtfully designed space that my daughter adores.
